GriffinWorx is proud to announce the first WECREATE Challenge in Papua New Guinea is starting off with a bang. The WECREATE Challenge is a business model competition open to women-owned, co-founded and led businesses and business ideas. The PNG WECREATE Challenge opened applications in October and has received a total of 115 applications in fields ranging from real estate to retail.
WECREATE Challenge PNG is now gearing up for the Extreme Build-A-Business Weekend on January 27-28, 2017. All applicants are invited and encouraged to participate. Over the course of the weekend, rising women entrepreneurs will learn from experts in their fields the secrets to business success with hands-on lessons on topics such as designing a viable business model and maximizing resources.
From the Extreme Build-A-Business Weekend, 25 businesses will be selected to continue to the Top 25 Pitch Event, which will take place in February. PNG WECREATE Challenge aims to offer each the guidance of mentors as well as a solid base upon which to build and succeed in the future.
“The WECREATE Challenge model is proving that it’s working. Women all over the world are getting access to the tools the need to grow sustainable businesses in their local communities. We are very excited to see what the passionate and inspiring women of Papua New Guinea can accomplish with this new support system in place,” said Sean Griffin, Founder and CEO of GriffinWorx.
The WECREATE Challenge business model competition is for women owned, women co-founded businesses and women led businesses only and is open to any type of business idea. Women entrepreneurs who compete are rewarded for tuning their idea into a viable business, going to market quickly, building a team, modifying their business model, and they learning what drives customers and revenue.
