“World peace will be accomplished through entrepreneurship—we’re talking about entrepreneurs as heroes,” entrepreneurial guru SeanGriffin recently told the Tulsa City Council.
Griffin is the founder and CEO of StartUp Cup, Inc., a Tulsa-based entrepreneurial consulting firm that has mentored the creation of more than 200 small businesses in multiple countries, from Egypt to England, and also created the StartUp Cup business model competition, held annually in six communities in five countries, with 15 more currently being organized. Locally, the competition is organized through Tulsa Community College and the Lobeck-Taylor Family Foundation.
In between globe-trotting and grooming fledgling captains of industry in faraway lands, Griffin was asked to bring some of his world peace-motivating entrepreneurial know-how to bear as head of the Entrepreneurship Subcommittee of the council’s Economic Development Commission. He presented his recommendations to the council last week. Read more from their site.
