Yangon StartUp Cup Announces Global Entrepreneurship Week Build-A-Business Workshops

October 29, 2012 – Yangon, Myanmar – As a featured event of Myanmar Global Entrepreneurship Week, StartUp Cup Extreme Build-A-Business Workshops will present a series of highly interactive, mentorship-driven workshops being held November 11, 17, & 18, 2012.

Yangon StartUp Cup Organizers have engaged a team of local entrepreneurs and business leaders who will provide mentorship to entrepreneurs selected to participate through the universal steps required to start and build a viable business.

Workshop topics include:

  • Business Model Design Through Visual Thinking
  • Value Creation / Reaching the Target Customer
  • Crowdfunding / Action Planning
  • Creating and Delivering a “Pitch” to Win Business – Winner receives $200
  • Connect with Like-Minded Entrepreneurs From Yangon

“This is a great opportunity for the entrepreneurial community of Myanmar,” said Peter Silvester, Organizer.  “We are offering workshops designed to train and mentor local entrepreneurs with any type of business to move beyond idea generation and into the mechanics of what is required to design, start, and build a viable business. Ultimately, our goal is to help create jobs for the local economy through creating businesses that offer solutions for Myanmar’s pressing problems.”

The Extreme Build-A-Business workshops will be held at The Grand Mee Ya Hta Hotel, Yangon. Participation is with prior registration only at projecthubyangon@gmail.com. Participants will start the process to design a viable business model, develop customers, and accelerate their startup into the marketplace. In May 2013 Yangon StartUp Cup business model competition will kick-off with a comprehensive seven-month judging, coaching, and mentoring process. Winners will be announced during the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2013.
